What settles
Only receipts from brands whose shares exist as tokenized equities on Robinhood Chain. Everything else has no stock to give, so it is refused before any reward is counted. The list is the constraint — not a partnership, not a deal. When a company's shares are tokenized, its receipts start settling.
| Apple, Apple Store | AAPL |
| Amazon, Whole Foods Market | AMZN |
| Walmart, Walmart Supercenter, Sam's Club | WMT |
| McDonald's | MCD |
| The Home Depot | HD |
| Coca-Cola — bottler and vending receipts | KO |
| Queued as their shares are tokenized | NFLX · TSLA · TGT · COST · NKE · SBUX |
A receipt is matched to the merchant that printed it, never to the product on it. A graphics card bought at Best Buy settles in BBY once Best Buy is live — not in NVDA. A Coca-Cola bought inside a Walmart settles in WMT, because Walmart printed the paper.
What the paper must be
Checked before the reward is computed. A receipt that fails any line here never reaches the payout rule.
| Age | 90 days or newer |
| Total | $4,000 or less |
| Currency | US dollars |
| Date | not in the future |
| Readable | merchant, date and total all legible |
| Photo | live camera, never an upload |
| Arithmetic | the printed lines must produce the printed total |
| Claimed before | never, by any wallet |
How much it pays
Four percent of the receipt, settled in that brand's stock, and never less than $5. A wallet's very first approved receipt gets a welcome: its first $10 is paid in full, then 4% of the rest. Every receipt after that is 4%, with the $5 floor still guaranteed. The floor is why a $3.50 bottle of Coke is worth photographing.
| Rate | 4.00% of the receipt total |
| Floor, every receipt | $5.00 |
| Welcome, once per wallet | first $10 in full, then 4% of the rest |
| Ceiling per receipt | $25.00 |
| Ceiling if the wallet holds 100,000 $OWNBACK | $150.00 |
| Rounding | to the nearest cent |
| Shares | reward ÷ that day's reference price |
The same receipt from a wallet holding no $OWNBACK would have settled $25.00. A $2.31 coffee pays $5.00 whether it is that wallet's first receipt or its fiftieth.
Limits per wallet
All limits are per wallet over a rolling 24 hours. There is no lifetime cap: a wallet that keeps shopping keeps earning.
| Receipts approved | 4 |
| Earnings | $250 |
| Scans attempted | 15 an hour |
| Welcome | once, ever |
A large receipt late in a wallet's day can settle less than the rule says: the rule is computed first, then the per-receipt ceiling, then whatever room is left in the $250. If less than $5 is left, the receipt waits for the next day rather than settling under the floor.
How a scan is judged
The model reads the photo and returns the merchant, date, total, receipt number, and a confidence score from 0 to 1 that this is genuine paper. It also flags photos of screens, reprints, and totals the line items cannot produce. The score and the flags decide what happens next. We do not publish the flag list — that is the point of having one.
Treated as junk, not a borderline case. You are asked to retake it: paper, flat, good light. A refusal does not count against your four a day.
A person sees the photo, the model's reasoning and the wallet's history, then approves up to what the rule allows or rejects with a reason. Anything flagged as a screen photo, reprint, typed mock-up, edit, or an impossible total is refused outright and never reaches a person. Holders of $OWNBACK sit at the front of this queue; they do not get an easier standard.
The reward is reserved against the wallet immediately and settles as stock within about five minutes. The entry is written to the ledger at reservation, not at settlement.
What you see when it stops
Every refusal names its reason. These are the exact messages in the scanner.
| Not a tokenized brand | That shop's stock isn't tokenized yet, so there's nothing to give you. |
| Already claimed | This receipt has been used before — by any wallet, from any angle. |
| Too old | Receipts must be from the last 3 months. |
| Over $4,000 | Receipts over $4,000 don't count. Something smaller? |
| Fifth of the day | Four receipts a day per wallet. Come back tomorrow. |
| Day's $250 reached | This wallet has hit today's limit. Try tomorrow. |
| Not US dollars | Only USD receipts for now. |
| Numbers don't add up | The lines on this receipt don't make that total. |
| Can't read it | We couldn't read the merchant, date or total. Try again in better light, flat on a table. |
| Confidence under 0.20 | We couldn't make out real paper in that photo. Paper, flat, good light. |
What $OWNBACK does
One thing: it sets your ceiling. Holding 100,000 $OWNBACK in the scanning wallet raises the per-receipt maximum from $25 to $150 and moves you up the review queue. It does not change the 4% rate, does not change the $5 floor, and is never required to earn.
It is not equity in Ownback, not a claim on the treasury, and not a share in any brand named on this site. The treasury it funds buys the tokenized equities on Robinhood Chain at the moment a receipt clears; the rate and the ceilings exist so that outflow stays bounded and predictable, which is the only reason there are ceilings at all.
| Hold | Max per receipt |
|---|---|
| Nothing — Slip | $25.00 |
| 100,000 $OWNBACK — Ledger | $150.00 |
| 500,000 $OWNBACK — Vault | $150.00 + merchant early access |
These rules change. When they do, the change ships with a post on the log that explains the mechanics before it reaches the app, and this page carries its version and date at the top.
